GEO KNITS SLOW

Geo Knits Slow, a fashion practice inspired by the process of slow, hand made garments and the beauty of repurposed materials. Geo’s practice is not just about the product but the energy, community and stories that has formed around it.

Geo sources 2nd hand fabrics from charity shops, the places she goes and the people she meets. The fabrics are washed, cut and bound up into balls of yarn and then hand knitted into one off pieces. She aims to make pieces that a lot of love has gone into, hoping to make the wearer feel special and unique. Striving to make impactful pieces with little impact on the environment, she sensitively repurposes second-hand bed sheets, curtains and other fabrics that would otherwise end up in landfill.

In addition to her personal projects, Geo also collaborates with brands to repurpose their waste offcuts. She collects up the offcuts, cuts them up and knits them into a wearable garment. Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to embrace slow fashion, to reuse and repurpose old materials, and to embrace our not so perfect selves.

All of the pieces in Geo Knits Slow are handcrafted by Geo herself in her London studio. Each garment is a labor of love, and a beautiful testament to the power of community, friendship, sustainability, and slow creation.
